Sadly, I have not had much contact with my eldest sister since she was taken into the hospital on September 12th. She went from the hospital to a nursing home after a few weeks, and then back to the hospital after some more weeks. Every time I tried to call her, no one would answer the phone. The cataract surgeries went well. No issues, really. It took a lot longer for my left eye to heal and catch up, but it is doing good now. I can see without glasses, and I can see far away, but I cannot read or see things clearly if they are within my arms reach. I now have to have reading glasses to see anything close up. My second cataract surgery had to be postponed until Oct 7 because my "designated driver" never showed up on Monday morning. At age 58 I am re-learning my high school Spanish. I have forgotten almost all of it. The French I forgot the same week I learned it back 100 years ago. I won't attempt to relearn French, but because my lady love is from Chile, and since I have plenty of time on my hands, it can't hurt to be able to say "I eat apples" in Spanish. *coughs ( Read more... )

It has been a busy week with my eldest sister. I wrote about getting her home last Friday, but since that time I've had to go back to her home 3 times. First was Tuesday, to bring her a carton of cigarettes because she was out of smokes.
